About

In 2020, during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, our wedding got cancelled. Like a lot of people, we cancelled due to travel restrictions and social-gathering limits. However, while there was no 'event', we still got married! And many of you attended our Zoom ceremony!

Despite our wedding being unique and special, we always felt we missed out on the opportunity to celebrate with our favourite people. So in lieu of a wedding, we're having a vow-renewal ceremony! And because we live in the Yukon, we're sending out the Save-The-Date early!

So, we would love for you to join us in celebrating 5 years of marriage and of course, have a drink and some tasty food on our dime! No registry, no dress code, just a lot of fun in the special place we've made our home with new and old friends alike :)

Location

We live in Dawson, a small community in the Central Yukon. The ceremony and party will be at our property in Sunnydale at 100 Kokopellie Road. We are grateful to live in the traditional territory of the Trʼondëk Hwëchʼin.

The Yukon is home to 11 Self-Governing First Nations. The Umbrella Final Agreement was signed in 1993 and paved the way for modern land claim agreements. As visitors to the Yukon, we encourage you to learn more about these agreements, Trʼondëk Hwëchʼin and Yukon First Nations.

Dawson City is also the home of the 1898 Klondike Goldrush which saw an estimated 100,000 people make the journey North to seek their fortune. The City was founded by Joseph Ladue at the confluence of the Yukon and Klondike Rivers. This area had been used by the Hän people as a fishing camp for millennia. Tr'ochëk is now a National Historic Site but when the newcomers arrived, then Chief Isaac moved his people further downriver to Moosehide. The legacy of the Klondike Goldrush is still present in Dawson and we think it’s important to acknowledge its complicated history. We’ve provided some links to get you started!

We love living here and we hope you get the chance to visit and see why.

Getting Here

Dawson is accessible via plane and the highway, but we are very remote! We recommend planning your journey as soon as possible.

Flying: In summer Air North have routes that fly Vancouver-Dawson with a short stopover in Whitehorse. They also fly to Toronto and Ottawa in the summer but these routes are usually only offered once a week.

Air Canada and West Jet fly regularly to Whitehorse from Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary but the final leg to Dawson is only serviced by Air North.

Driving: If you want to explore the Yukon, you can hire a car in Whitehorse and drive up the scenic North Klondike Highway. Be wary of potholes! You can also rent an RV from Fraserway!
